Why I chose the Fairy Wren for my name.
When we lived at Thagoona, my next door neighbour had a pair of Fairy Wrens which chose her hanging basket to make a nest in. They did this every year. They are so tiny, and when you see the tiny little eggs it just reminds you how our wonderful God made even the tiniest life so perfect in every way, equipped with all they need to survive in this world, just as we are.

Petie's Quilt
I realise I haven't posted anything for a while, that is because I have been madly sewing. My daughter Peta's quilt top is now officially finished. Now all I have to do is to piece the back, I am using up all the quilt blocks that didn't make the front because they weren't the right size, plus all the bits of material left over hopefully will make a nice quilt back, and I don't have shell out to get a piece of material to fit. Besides, it will look better as it matches the front. I am also hand stitching a Quilt Label for it, I hope to have it finished the middle of September so have to get a wriggle on. Will get my son to take a picture of the completed top.
Bye for now,
Elaine.

Gifts of Grace
I have completed Block 6 of Gifts of Grace B.O.M., kindly put out by Val Laird on her site (see button on side bar). I am going to attempt to post them here. They are not very good, it is the first time I have done anything like this, probably should have used a hoop, but I am quite happy with them regardless. Hope you like them.

A new day.
I have finished the first border on the Wedding quilt I am making for my daughter. Now don't get all excited, she has been married for 10 years in September, and has two children. I started it before she was married, but I was only a newbie and didn't understand what I was doing. Ten years later, I have a lot figured out, but only with the help of God, He and I did a lot of figuring out, not only the quilt, but my mind, I had a lot of serious stuff going on in there which kept me from doing things. This year we moved camp to Toogoom, 10 mins north of Hervey Bay and I joined the Craft Group and The Linus Group (which makes quilts for sick kids in hospital), that straightened out my mind a lot, and I also learned a lot about quilts from them also. This gave me the confidence to have a go again, and in 2 months, I have joined the blocks with 1 inch sashing and have put the 4inch border on. All there is to do now to finish the top is the next 8inch border, which God willing, I will do tomorrow when I visit my friend.
That is all for now, talk again later.

Still Learning
I am trying to figure out how to add things and make this blog mine. As I am a little techno challenged it is quite hard, but I will persevere. I hope I will get some friends who will help me to make it look better.
Bye for now and God bless.
